This is not a reenactment per se, but we thought it was a worthwhile
event to list. The Civil War Preservation Trust works to save historic
battlegrounds. The conference will take you to Springfield, Mo. for War
in the Ozarks: Trans-Mississippi and Missouri.

2008 Celebrating Loyalty Day Edinburg, OH
VFW Post 1055 in Ravenna Ohio- May 3rd
we are and will have a Parade beginning at our Post on New
Milford Rd and ending at the Veterans Memorial in front of the
Ravenna Court House. We would appreciate very much if some of the
Reenactment groups could attend and be part of the Parade. Our Post
Commander is battling cancer and participation by some of these
groups that could attend would make it very special indeed for this
retired Master Sergeant of the Army who has been active in the VFW

22, 2008 - Lanier Days, Madison, IN
This family event is held on the
beautiful grounds of the Lanier Mansion, on the banks of the Ohio
River, in Madison, Indiana. J.F.D. Lanier was a successful banker
and investor who loaned the State of Indiana over $1,000,000 during
the Civil War to equip troops and pay interest on the state's debt,
helping to keep Indiana on the Union side. The event will include
an encampment and a battle each day. Other activities will include
storytelling, children's crafts, concert of 19th century music,
local history talks, demonstrators of architectural restoration

Annual Civil War Weekend -
5th Anniversary Celebration. Nineteenth Century Sanitary Fair
highlights Marilla’s 5th Annual Civil War Encampment at Marilla
Town Park on Three Rod Road. Bonfire Friday Night, Battle
Re-enactment's and living history on Saturday and Sunday. Open
to the public 9am to 5pm and 7 to 10pm on Saturday, 9am to 3pm
on Sunday. Period Dance Saturday evening, open to the public,

The Jonas Cook Camp in Mt. Pleasant,
North Carolina is looking forward to hosting the 2008 National SCV
Reunion at the Cabarrus Arena. We have a tentative schedule of
events on the site as well as information about hotels, tours,

26, 27, & 28, 2008 – MOORESVILLE, INDIANA
- Mooresville Park District and
the Army of Tennessee CSA/USA Freeman’s Battery Company A cordially
invite all civil war reenactors and sutlers to our Civil War Days &
Battle. Usual amenities will be given to 2-day participants: wood,
straw, water and Saturday evening meal. First 75 participating
infantry on each side who have pre-registered will receive $ 3.00
for powder rations. Artillery will receive a $100 bounty to the
first 5 on each side who have pre-registered and been pre-approved.
The first 2 mortars on each side that have pre-registered and have
been pre-approved will receive $50. A $30 bounty to the first 5
pre-approved Mounted Calvary on each side. All medical, artesian
crafters and impersonators are welcome. Events will include:
Battles, drills, camp and dress competitions, children’s games,
ladies fashion show, civilian luncheon and authentic church service
with a unforeseen event at the end. There will be a cannon line
fire and a military ball on Saturday evening. Modern facilities:
restrooms and hot showers (no hookups). Authentic, modern and
civilian camping areas are available within the 127-acre shaded
park. This is the closest event to the Indianapolis area. A $20
sutler fee, pre-registered required. You don’t want to miss this
event we have already pre-registered all the artillery, mortars, and
have of the infantry already. It promises to been a large and well

OCTOBER 10,
11, 12, 2008 - HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA
- 19th annual anniversary
of Blackford County Civil War Days and 14th annual
Educational Day.
Bounties for first 200 (100
US/CSA) infantry, first twelve full-scale artillery, and first
twelve cavalry. Ongoing skirmish up to battle both days,
tactical Sunday morning, military ball, payroll, artillery night
firing, demonstrations, ladies tea, fashion show, $50 drawing
each day for one CS & US soldier. Hay, straw, wood, plus
Saturday evening meal provided. Registration free for all
persons except sutlers. Sutler fee - $25.00 (donated to the
Blackford County Monument Maintenance Fund No modern facilities
or electrical hook-ups on site. Campground within four miles.
Host units are 49th Ind. Vol. Inf., Co. F and 50th Vir. Inf.,
