#1602-CIVILIAN SHAWL COLLAR VEST-
This
vest is
probably the most common style being worn by civilian men in period images. It
was also quite common on enlisted men in both Union and Confederate Armies
because neither army
issued vests. In a soldier's case, the vest was usually brought from home or procured
from a local dry goods store. Officer's
purchased their vests from military clothiers.
Made from civilian weight wools and other fabrics, our shawl collar
vest
features two front welted pockets and the shawl style collar.
Two collar
styles are available. Click on the picture for a
description of both styles.
Five cloth
covered buttons
are sewn on the front, and the back is adjustable by means of a belt and buckle.
Lining is Natural Cotton, back and adjustable back belt is cotton. Made in the USA!
Some deluxe extra cost
fabrics are available. Click
to view Civilian Fabrics.
Most
Civilian Vests are custom made for each order. Please allow 6 weeks delivery. Because custom orders are non returnable, please visit our
