M1859 USMC
WOOL TROUSERS - Enlisted Marines were issued wool trousers in Sky Blue- same color as
the Army for Fall, Winter and Spring wear. For Summer, White Cotton
trousers were issued- please scroll down. The French style pockets
with corner buttons and the split back with cord tie adjustment are
standard on the wool trousers. Two back belts with buckle for adjustment
are optional, as is dropping the buttons on the pocket corners.
The pant legs are left unhemmed so
that you may hem them the length that you wish. Tin paper backed buttons
for fly and suspenders are supplied, but not sewn on. The double
front buttons for suspenders on each
side is standard. All USMC trousers are custom made for
each order- Please allow 6 week delivery.

Per
USMC Regulations, on the Sky Blue Wool trousers only, Officers and NCO ranks Sgt Major, QM Sgt, Drum Major,
Chief Musician and Musicians were to wear a 3/16" scarlet welt in the
outseam. Privates, Corporals, Sergeants and First Sergeants wore trousers
without any rank trim.
