#1101- CS ENLISTED SINGLE BREASTED FROCKCOAT-  Early War thru End of War Period.   Several Southern militia units wore Frockcoats very early in the War.  Although the various Depots may have made frockcoats on a limited basis, the majority of original coats in museums seem to have been made and customized by the folks back home and sent to a soldier at the front.

Our enlisted frockcoat features as standard our 19 ounce field service wool and a natural cotton upper body lining (lined to the waist). Other fabrics are available at extra cost. The coat typically has 9 large buttons on the front and 2 large buttons on the back of the coat at the waistline.  The cuffs have 2 small buttons for decoration. An inside left breast pocket and pockets in the folds of the skirt are standard. Our coat is made with branch of service trim unless you specify “no trim”.

A full cotton lining is available at extra cost for the all wool frockcoats and is required on the wooljean frockcoats to prevent the skirt from raveling.  Buttonholes, whether machine-sewn or hand-sewn, are done in a color appropriate to the fabric color.  CSA buttons are supplied with the coat, but not sewn on. Other buttons available at extra cost.  Lace across the front for Musician's can be added- see third coat at left.   Made in the USA!

All our frockcoats have raw bottom edges per most originals (except the wooljean fabric).    All #1101 frockcoats are custom made for each individual order.  Please allow 6 weeks for delivery. Because custom orders are not returnable, please visit our measurement page, and submit your measurements when you order.
