ENLISTED SINGLE BREASTED FROCKCOAT-
This is a reproduction of a Confederate Musician's Frockcoat-
The original is in the collection of the Museum of the
Confederacy. The wearer is thought to have been in the 2nd North
Carolina, Co K. Since this is such a unique uniform, to
maintain authenticity, we only offer the coat like the original.
Our tan 19 oz wool with a full brown cotton
body lining and natural cotton sleeve lining is used. The front
has 8 large size US Eagle buttons and copies the original configuration.
The bottom of the skirt is hemmed. Black braid 3/8" wide is used
in the rows across the chest, to outline the top and bottom of the
collar, and as a oval shoulder decoration. The sleeves have a
double row of braid around the sleeve with 4 small buttons inserted into
the face of the sleeve (portion that faces out) between the two rows. The coat has two large buttons on the back at the waistline.
An inside left breast pocket and pockets in the folds of the
skirt are standard.
Buttonholes,
whether machine-sewn or hand-sewn, are in black.
US Eagle buttons are supplied with the coat, but
not sewn on.
Made in the USA!
