
Same specifications as the #7222 foot style dress frock coats, except the collar is entirely solid branch of service color, the belt loops have been dropped and the rear pocket flap trim is full length.
In 1885 the Infantry trim color was changed to WHITE from the sky blue used previously. Ordnance, Engineers and Hospital Stewards continued the trim colors being white edge piped as in 1873. In 1885, new gold lace Chevrons on branch of service wool backer were adopted for Dress Coats by the Army uniform board. In 1888 new rank chevrons were adopted for the Hospital Corps also.
